This course introduces students to the essential principles underlying the failure of engineering materials through fracture and fatigue. Students will explore mechanics of materials, fracture mechanics, crack initiation and propagation, fatigue life prediction, and design strategies to ensure structural integrity. With a focus on industry‑relevant case studies and applications, the course prepares learners to assess, predict, and mitigate failure in components and structures subject to static and cyclic loading.
